Good Scores
In the men’s medal round on Saturday at the Temuka golf course, :■ >me good cards were returned, six net score: being under par figures. W. McGillen played consistently to score 41 each round and his handicap of 18 gave him a net 64. No doubt the handicapper will make the scoring of a subpar total more difficult for him in future. Although he has had few games F. A. Scannell returned an attractive 86 on a handicap of 20. Carding a gross 79, H. H. Hitchcock in spite of little practice played soundly to earn a net 66. E. Mosley on 25, carded a gross 91. His round was compiled in quite a convincing manner and he has only to realise his present promise to get below the 20 mark. In the women's division Miss Thomson outstripped the field to carry the flag to the 19th tee where she cancelled a stroke in hand by hitting the ball out of bounds. To have got so far indicated that Miss Thomson played under her handicap and the winning of the competition was a fitting conclusion to a good round.
