PREPARATIONS IN HAND
PAN-PACIFIC CONFERENCE The programme for the Pan-Pacifi Conference, which is to be held a Wellington from January 11 to 26, i now in circulation, says the secretar; of the Timaru Locality Committee Miss A. lantern slides and films; exhibition of exhibits; and the two inspirational services. Two periods have been set aside for viewing exhibits when the representatives front different countries will attend to explain the exhibits to delegates and ticket holders. Slides depicting Maori craftsmanship are in course of preparation.
The New Zealand delegation will be accommodated at Wallis House, Lower Hutt, and is expected to be in residence by January 4, 1940, for final discussions and other preparatory business. Certain towns, such as Palmerston North, Napier, Blenheim, Nelson and Christchurch are within easy flying distance of Wellington. Other towns, such as Master-ton and Wanganui, are within reasonable distance by car. If invitations are received from any such towns for two or three overseas delegates to speak at a public meeting, it could probably be arranged on one of the free afternoons or evenings during the conference. Individual members may enrol with the local committee for 2s 6d while the subscription for women’s organisations is ss. The Timaru Committee is anxious to build up a fund to assist the New Zealand National Committee.
