Mr Alex McDonald has been appointed Wellington Rugby selector in succession to Mr Mark Nicholls.
Mr V. Craw, country representative on last year’s selection committee, was last night appointed sole Canterbury Rugby selector.
Professor J. Malcolm, of the Otago Medical School is returning to New Zealand by the Akaroa, which is to arrive at Auckland from Southampton to-morrow.
The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage will leave Wellington for Auckland on Sunday night. He will inspect factories on Monday and on Tuesday' will attend the Anzac Dawn Parade. On Wednesday he will inspect more factories and will leave on his return to Wellington that night.
The manager of the Palmerston North branch of the Bank of Australasia, Mr A. G. Lawson, will retire on superannuation at the end of the month alter having held his present position for a period of six and a-half years. He will be succeeded by Mr L C Hawk, manager of the Hawera branch. Mr Lawson is retiring after 44 years’ service.
