WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

EALING Mrs Davis presided over a small attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Ealing Women’s Institute held in the Library Hall. Mrs Davis and Miss Corbett were appointed delegates to attend the annual council meeting. It was decided to hold a dance early in May and that the annual birthday party be held on an afternoon in June. Mrs Mcßae took charge of the meeting during the election of officers, which resulted as follows. —President, Mrs Davis; vicepresidents, Mrs B. Withell and Mrs J. Mackenzie; secretary, Miss Helen Mackenzie; treasurer, Miss P. Good; committee, Mesdames Donaldson, Gibb, Stevens, Misses M. Jones, M. Corbett and J. Pagan. The competitions resulted as follows:—Bloom: Miss Helen Mackenzie. Truss: Miss Iris Jones. Bowl: Mrs Giddings. Shrub: Mrs Giddings. Apricot jam: Miss Iris Jones 1, Mrs Colville 2.
