FAIRLIE AMATEUR SPORTS

Fitness Campaign D. O’Connor Prominent Sports organised by the Fairlie Amateur Athletic Club were held on Thursday night in conjunction with the fitness campaign. D. O’Connor put up a good performance by winning the 100 yards and 880 yards. There were 20 competitors for the javelin and discus throws. Results were:— 100 Yards—D. O’Connor (2yds) 1. C. FITNESS CAMPAIGN The Fairlie fitness campaign will conclude with an exhibition polo match on the Gorge Road grounds to-morrow. The match will be conducted by the Pareora Polo Club. “THAT CERTAIN AGE” “That Certan Age" will be screened at Fairlie to-night at 8.15, with a special matinee at 2.15 p.m. to-day. Popular and classical numbers sung by Deanna Durbin are “That Certain Age,” “My Own,” “You’re as Pretty as a Picture,” “Be a Good Scout,” “Les Filles De Cadiz,” and the waltz aria from “Romeo and Juliet.” Supporting artists include Melvyn Douglas, Jackie Cooper, Irene Rich, Nancy Carroll, John Halliday and Jackie Searl.
