The Pleasant Point Tennis Club and Tug-of-war Club are opening a grand carnival with a dance in the Town Hall on March 2. The proceeds of the carnival are for new courts in Pleasant Point township.

Card patrons to-night are assured of an excellent game of euchre in the Wentworth Hall at 8.15 p.m. Good prizes and supper will be provided.

On Wednesday next at 1.30 p.m. on premises No. 16 Sutter Street, Messrs Runciman Pryor Ltd. will offer by public auction as above on account of the trustees of the late Mrs Agnes Fisher. Her five-roomed dwelling and household furniture and effects, linen, etc.

Morton and Co., Ltd., advertise a clearing sale of superior household furniture and furnishings to be held at 66 Elizabeth Street on Tuesday, March 14, acting under instructions from Mrs E. M. Palmer, who has sold her property.

Morton and Co., Ltd., draw attention to the two properties they are offering at auction on Friday, March 10, in their Mart at 2 p.m. The Theodocia Street residence which is Number 24, is very handily situated and is being sold on account of the trustee in the estate of the late J. There are but few vacancies to be filled to complete the party which Mr Thos. Ritchie of Dunedin, is taking overseas this year. The party leave New Zealand by the Rangitata on April 6 and arrive in London on May 9 After a most comprehensive tour of Great Britain the party cross the Channel to France, thence to Switzerland. Germany, and Belgium. Ten days will be spent in London. Members of the party may make the return Journey to New Zealand via the Suez Canal and Australia without any additional charge. The opening of Miss Dorothy Thwaites’ School of Dancing will be on Monday next, when Miss Thwaites will personally interview intending patrons at the Wentworth Studio from 3 p.m. A class has already been arranged to commence at 4 p.m. Ail branches of dancing will be instructed under qualified supervision.
