FIRST FLYING BOAT LAUNCHED United 1 -se Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON. February 21. The Ao-te-Roa, which is the first of the flying boats for the Tasman service was launched on the Medway River, for trial flights this week. It will be followed quickly by the Australia and the Awarua. Each will have a range of 2000 miles and will carry 17 passengers and mails. The loaded weight of the vessels vi>l be 46,C001b5. compared with the 40,5001bs of the ordinary Empire flying-boats.
