PERSONAL Mr and Mrs John Macdonald, Fairlie, who have been on holiday in Timaru, leave to-day to complete their annual vacation in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs M. J. O’Connor, Miss Peggy O’Connor and Mr Hare (Auckland) who were the guests of Mrs C. R. Wareing, Allandale, have left for Mount Cook and the Southern Lakes. Mr and Mrs J. O’Neill, Allandale, are on holiday in North Canterbury, and Miss M. Rodgers, who was Mrs O’Neill’s guest, has accompanied them. CATHOLIC BAZAAR An attraction in Fairlie on January 25, 26 and 27 which is expected to draw a large attendance, is the Catholic Bazaar. There will be numerous entertainments each day and evening, and a variety of side shows. A feature of the bazaar will be a tug-of-war contest for which entries close on January 21. The fixture is being held in the Aorangi Hall, and produce of all kinds wll be on sale. “THE RAGE OF PARIS” Danielle Darrieux is starred in “The Rage of Paris,” which will be screened at Fairlie to-night. Danielle Darrieux is the star whose exciting beauty is the talk of the world. Douglas Fairbanks, jnr. is in the supporting cast. The story is a gay romantic comedy of a girl who was brought up to marry money but who grew up to want love. She could not get a job, so she tried the business of marrying money until romance threw her into bankruptcy and love.
