COCONUT CANDY

To make this sweet you will require one and a half pounds of brown sugar, three-quarters of a pint of water, and half a pound of desiccated coconut. Dissolve the sugar in the water and boil until it becomes creamy. To test it, take a little out with a spoon and see if it is creamy enough to roll into a ball when cold. Stir well, and when the mixture grows cloudy, add the coconut and stir until it is quite thick. Pour into a greased tin and cut into slices when cold and firm.
