DEFINING KEY INDUSTRIES British Official Wireless (Received December 9, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY December 8. The general council of the Trades Union Congress considered a letter from the Labour Minister (Mr Ernest Brown) inviting the council’s assistance in defining key occupations from which persons over a certain age could not be spared for the purposes of the national service register. The council decided to accept the suggestion of a discussion on the matter with Mr Brown and the Lord Privy Seal (Sir Robert Anderson) to clarify the position on several points.
