THE CENTENNIAL

ERRONEOUS IMPRESSION REMOVED By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 8. The impression that the marking of the New Zealand Centennial by celebrations and memorials was a matter solely for local bodies was erroneous, said the Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. W. E. Parry, at a meeting of the National Centennial Council today. It was the desire of the Government that the celebrations should be on a national basis, that every section of the people through their community organisations should be associated with the observances, and that as far as possible every individual should be given an opportunity of subscribing to the Centennial Fund.
