COUNTY OF LEVELS SEADOWN WATER SUPPLY DISTRICT NOTICE TO CLEAN RACES MOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all Occupiers of land within the boundaries of the Seadown Water Supply District to clean and repair all Water Races which traverse their properties. Any Races which are not so cleaned within a reasonable time will be cleaned by the Council and the cost of the work will be charged to the Occupier of the land through which the Race so cleaned runs. PUBLIC NOTICE PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at the next ordinary Meeting of the SOUTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD to be held at the office of the Board, Woollcombe Street, Timaru, on the 13th day of December, 1938, at 10.30 a.m., there will be submitted for confirmation by the Board a resolution passed by way of Special Order at a Meeting of the Board held on the Bth day of November, 1938. The resolution making the said Special Order is as follows: THAT a sum of £30,000 be borrowed under Section 15 of the Finance Act 1936 (No.'2) by the issue of debentures having a currency of 26 years bearing Interest at the rate of 34 per cent, per annum for the purpose of constructing electric works, and such other matters as are provided for in the Electric Power Boards’ Act 1925 and amendments thereto in the SOUTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD DISTRICT and shall be designated "ELECTRICITY DEVELOPMENT LOAN, 1938.” THE PROPOSED SECURITY AND PROVISION FOR RE-PAYMENT OF THE LOAN ARE:— (1) A Special rate of .04d in the pound (£) upon the rateable value, being the capital value of all rateable property in the said area, such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of 26 years or until the loan is fully paid off. (2) The Establishment of a Sinking Fund to which annual payments shall be made of an amount being not less than two pounds ten shillings (£2 10s Od) per centum per annum of the amount of debentures issued in respect of the said Loan. It is proposed to pay out of the Loan the cost of raising the Loan. AND further notice is given that a poll of the ratepayers is required to be taken if 5 per cent, of the ratepayers so demand of the rating area by writing under their hands, delivered or sent by post to the SOUTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD not later than the day preceding the said Meeting.
