Dr D. E. Hansen, principal of the Christchurch Technical College, has been granted leave of absence for health reasons by the board of governors, the leave to be extended as long as necessary. Mr W. J. Cryer, postmaster in Manala, Taranaki, is to take up the appointment of postmaster in Otahuhu, replacing Mr F. Auld, who has been appointed postmaster in Tauranga. Flying-Officer J. M. Buckerldge, a member of the staff of the Controller of Civil Aviation since 1936, has been posted to the retired list, with permission to retain his rank. He was formerly instructor for the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Clubs. Mr T. M. Kenealy, supervisor of the parcels branch of the chief post office at Auckland, has been appointed supervisor of postmen at Auckland. He succeeds Mr D. J. Lattimore, who recently was appointed deputy-chief postmaster at Christchurch. The Rev. Alfred G. Hall, D.D., Ph.D., Toronto, Canada, Director-General of the World Fellowship of Faith and Service, is at present in Wellington. Dr Hall will leave shortly on a tour of the South Island, after which he will return to Wellington. He will return to Auckand in December and will sail for America at the end of the year.
