The Hankow correspondent of “The Times” reports that the Japanese, having taken over the policing of the foreign concessions, including the British. The British and American naval patrols have withdrawn, taking the Chinese and foreign special police with them.

The Shanghai correspondent of “The Times” states that American businessmen have approved of the United States action towards Japan and point out that Japan has launched a programme designed to oust American business from China. British business men long ago advised Home firms to a similar effect.
