CRICKET
SOUTH CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION The match committee of the South Canterbury Cricket Association met last evening. Present: Messrs V. Hahn, R. Wilson, A. G. Foster, W. H. Tub’>, and M. J. Angland (hon. secretary). Applications for affiliation with the Association were received from the Athletic Club (Timaru), and St. Patrick’s High School. Both clubs desired to enter a team in the third grade competition. The applications were granted. The following fixtures were approved for Saturday. First Grade: Geraldine V. Old Boys, at Geraldine. Temuka v. Timaru, at Temuka. School v. Star, at Rectory. Second Grade Waimataitai v. Old Boys, Fraser Park. Fairview v. Pareora, Park. School v. Star, School Park, No. 2. West End, a bye. Third Grade: Waimataitai v. Temuka, Ashbury. School v. Bruces, School Park, No. 2. Athletic v. St. Patrick’s, ground to be arranged. The committee decided that all teams provide for each match three stumps, and the fielding side provide the ball. All matches will commence at 1.45. The winning team in each match is expected to hand report of match to the newspapers. The committee further decided that clubs file the names of their players in all grades.
