DEEP-SEATED ORIGIN By Telegraph—Prea» Association WELLINGTON, October 31. An earthquake was recorded at the Dominion Observatory at 12.46 o’clock this morning. Its centre is calculated to have been approximately 250 miles from Wellington in an easterly direction. It is probably of deep-seated origin. FELT IN TAIHAPE STEADY SWAYING MOTION By Telegraph—Frees Association TAIHAPE, October 31. A prolonged earthquake at Talhape at 12.45 this morning, commenced with a steady swaying motion, gaining in intensity. It lasted approximately 45 seconds.
