DRIVE PLANNED BY GERMANY United press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 25. The Berlin correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph” states that Germany is preparing rapidly for a trade drive which is being launched not only in South-East Europe, but also in England, America and elsewhere. Field-Marshal Goering and Dr Funk are having a daily conference with commercial experts. An attack on the American market will begin in a few weeks when Dr Brinkmann, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Economics, will go to America with a delegation of industrial leaders to examine Anglo-American trade with a view to benefltting Germany. The Reichsbank is evolving an international monetary compensation system whereby economic relations with South-East Europe will be assisted. It is reported from Belgrade th:.t as an outcome of Dr Funk’s visit an agreement has been signed by which Germany will absorb 60 per cent of Yugo-Slavia’s exports. An Istanbul message states that Turkey is buying railway equipment from Germany to the value of £2,600.000.
