The maximum temperature was 55.7 degrees. The barometer at 5 p.m. was 29.94 inches and was falling. Ashburton—The sky was overcast for the greater part of the time yesterday and the sun only occasionally broke through the clouds. A fairly strong wind blew from the north-east. Temuka—Yesterday was dull and cold. There was a southerly wind. The maximum temperature was 60 and the minimum 44. The glass was falling last evening. Waimate (for the 24 hours ending 9 a.m. yesterday)—Thermometer, maximum 63.5; minimum 47; rain, 2 points; bright sunshine, 6 hours; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours, 79. Yesterday was mainly overcast with a fresh wind blowing. Dunedin—The weather yesterday was overcast and a fresh breeze blew from the south-west. The barometer fell to 29.90 inches and the maximum temperature was 55 degrees.
