NATIONAL AWARDS I By Telegraph—Press Association OAMARU, September 28 The National Daffodil Society’s show opened in the Drill Hall to-day with 150 entries from all parts of the South Island and as far north as Vl'ellington and Marton. The blooms were of very high quality and pure in texture. The main awards were as follows: Wilson Perpetual Challenge Cup—A. Gibson (Marton) 1, H. J. Poole (Lower Hutt) 2. Canterbury Horticultural Society’s Challenge Cup—G. H. Brownlee (Dunedin). Rhodes Silver Cup—T. J. Gray (Dunedin). Oamaru Cup—G. Lewis (Christchurch). New Zealand Seedling Challenge Cup—J. T. Gray (Dunedon). Premier blooms—Yellow Trumpet (Royalist), A. Gibson (Marton); White Trumpet (Baldur), J. T. Gray (Dunedin); Bicolour Trumpet (Norma) J. T. Gray; Tncomparabilis (Mannequin), G. Lewis (Christchurch); Barii (Iris), J. T. Gray; Leedsii (Seedling), W. Balch (Christchurch); champion of champions (Baldur), J. T. Gray.
