CZECH WARNING TO GERMANY War If One Soldier Crosses Feverish Preparations On All Sides United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received September 28 , 7.30 p.m.) PRAGUE, September 28. The military authorities report that regular troops are now occupying the German side of the frontier. It is stated that the crossing of the first German soldier will mean the outbreak of war. The official German news agency states that the Czechs have blown up twenty-four bridges between Zittau and Ratibor. Czech troops, near Bad Schandau, in Saxony, are feverishly felling trees, and preparing gun emplacements commanding the German bank of the Elbe. The Berlin correspondent of the British United Press reports that the Hitler bodyguard of Black Guards have abandoned their black uniforms tor field grey. WARNINGS TO LEAVE NATIONALS IN DANGER ZONE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright LONDON, September 27. The British Consul-General at Warsaw has warned Nationals that the situation between Czecho-Slovakia and Germany is now so strained that the possibility of war must be considered. Britishers should depart while it is still possible to travel. Three United States warships, including the cruiser Philadelphia, the flagship of the new Atlantic squadron, have sailed out to sea under secret orders. It is believed that they are speeding to Europe to evacuate Americans if war breaks out. The British and Swiss Consulates at Warsaw have asked their Nationals to send their wives and children home, because war would cut off the routes to England and Switzerland. A message from Malta states that German subjects are departing.
