Salt for Hay When stacking hay, from 121 b to 201 b of salt to the ton can be used. The lower quantitiy is sufficient, but one pound to the hundredweight of hay does not appear to be excessive when the advantages to be gained are considerd. Salt checks both fermentation and overheating, and weatherdamaged hay can be improved in quality by the liberal use of it.
