The Paris correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph" says: “Twenty thousand Little jute workers are protesting against a 15 per cent wage reduction. Coal owners and miners reached an agreement which has removed the fear of a strike. The miners will work an extra eleven days for six months from September 1 in return for a six per cent increase in wages. It is estimated the increased output will be 2,000,000 tons, saving £3,000,000, which was formerly sent abroad. The agreement will affect British exporters considerably. •
