FAST CABLING RECORD British Official Wireless RUGBY, August 26. The most ambitious cable transmission ever undertaken was initiated by the Dominion Secretary (Lord Stanley) at the Canadian National Exhibition. His message round the world was returned to him with five replies within four minutes of • its despatch. The message travelled 51,165 miles, of which 44,277 were by cable and 6,888 by land line.
