PAPAL DEFENCE OF CHURCH United Press Assoclanon—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received August 28, 7.30 p.m.) VATICAN CITY, August 28 The Pope, addressing the French pilgrims, reaffirmed that the church is entitled to speak on racialism, which is a branch of philosophy, on which religion guides and advisers. Addressing the Bavarians, the Pope extended a special welcome, as they came from a country where the atmosphere is threatening. His Holiness especially blessed the German Cardinal Faulhaber.
