MARTON RESIDENT’S RECORD By Telegraph—Press Association MARTON. August 27. The oldest acting returning officer in the whole of the British Dominions, district coroner at Marion for over 18 years, returning officer for very many years, and with a long and distinguished record of public service to his credit, Mr F. C. Wilson, former Mayor, health officer and Town Clerk of Marton, was to-day accorded a very high tribute from his fellow-citizens at a representative gathering at the Courthouse. Mr Wilson was eulogised by several speakers, and was presented by the Mayor (Mr F. Purnell) with a substantial cheque, subscribed to by well-wishers. Mr Wilson, who is aged 85 years, recently retired from the offices of returning officer and district coroner.
