SOCIAL POLICIES
NEED FOR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS British Official Wireless (Received August 23, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, August 25. Tile chief feature of the meeting of the British Association which has now concluded has been the decision to set up a division dealing with the social international relations of science. It is felt by prominent scientists, among the 3000 who attended, that the new division will have an enormous Influence if it reveals scientific evidence which might provide a basis for progressive social policies. Thirteen eminent English scientists and economists were nominated yesterday to the committee, which is to establish the machinery for the new division. Professor Ferguson, joint general secretary of the Association, said the committee would begin its work immediately, as it was felt there were a number of pressing problems for consideration.
