REPORTS OF BIG ENGAGEMENT BOMBARDMENT FOLLOWS SERIOUS CLASH United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 31, 11.29 p.m.) HSINKING, July 31 A communique states that Soviet troops attacked a Japanese Manchukoan patrol, near Changkufeng, with infantry and tanks. Japanese artillery repulsed them, inflicting 2GO casualtits, including 30 dead and capturing 11 tanks, two guns and other arms. As a result of the engagement Changkufeng and Shoatsaopong have been completely reoccupied after six hours fighting. Simultaneously Russians concentrated on the northern border of Korea, and bombarded the towns of Kojo and Sokan.
