Co-operation, not conflict, is the keynote in co-operating a country, in cooperating an empire in a co-operating world. We must attempt enduring peace by peaceful means. That does not mean we will never again be called upon to risk all for the preservation of our sacred heritage. OBLIGATIONS TO BRITAIN CANADA URGED TO FREE HERSELF United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 31, 6.30 p.m.) EDMONTON, July 30. The Canadian Commonwealth Federation Convention adopted a resolution endorsing freedom of action by Canada in the event of war involving the Empire, with the right to refuse to participate. Canada is urged to free herself from the present commitments to Britain.
