SAILORS MAKE MERRY

OTHER PEOPLE’S GOODS SUFFER By telegraph —Press Association WHANGAREI, July 16. Three sailors from H.M.S. Leander, at present visiting Russell, made merry on the Russell wharf last night, and threw into the harbour all the movable goods, merchandise and gear within reach. The objects of their attention included three cases containing to-day’s films for the local cinema, empty cream cans, vegetables and other material. Several officers who were attending a Masonic Lodge meeting ashore were appealed to, and the men were placed under arrest and returned to the ship.
