WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

WOODBURY Owing to cold wet weather there was not a very large attendance at the July meeting of the Woodbury Women's Institute, Mrs A. J. Kennedy presided. An interesting and instructive demonstration of making loose covers was given by Miss May and much appreciated. Talks on subjects gleaned from the “Countrywoman” were given by Mrs Baxter and Mrs McLeod. The competitions resulted as follow: Eggless fruit cake: Mrs Bennett and Mrs Hammond equal 1. Mrs Keen 2. Specimen bloom: Mrs McEvey 1, Mrs McLeod 2, Mrs Scotney 3. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Grant. Coll. H. Wooding, Misses Marjorie Webb and Easterbrooke.
