AUSTRALIANS IN UNITED STATES PLAYERS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received July 15, 6.30 p.m.) KANSAS CITY, July 14. The Australian Davis Cup players arrived in excellent condition and good spirits. Hopman expressed the belief that the temperatures of 100 degrees, which are characteristic here during the summer, would be a big help in getting the team in condition. Observers close to the team state that Hopman intends to play Quist and Bromwich in the singles and doubles against America, although both Schwartz and Hopman will undergo rigorous practice and training in order to be ready to substitute in the event of illness.
