TRADE WITH BRITAIN
VOLUME NEVER GREATER, By Telegraph Ft «•.«.*■ Association WELLINGTON. July 15. When asked to comment to-day on the cabled statement from London that the trade figures showed that New Zealand’s increased imports were mainly of foreign motor cars, the Prime Min- | ister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage stated lit was the plain, unvarnished truth that there had been more British motor cars and more British manufactures ! generally brought into New Zealand i since the Government came into power than ever before in the history of the country. “If they can show nic any time in New Zealand’s history when British manufactures were doing better from New Zealand’s trade than they arc doing to-day I want to hear of it,” said Mr Savage. “If British manufactures are doing well in New Zealand we also are doing well in Britain, because the very fact that we are buying from them enables them to buy from us.”
