WESTRALIAN GOLD OUTPUT For the first half of the current year Western Australia’s gold yield was 555,538 fine ounces compared with 473.798 ounces for the same period in 1937. in which year for the first time since 1916 more than 1.000.000 was recorded. The output for June was 96,065 ounces valued at £840,509 Australian currency which was 14,461 ounces higher than lor June, 1937. and 4000 ounces more than the yield for the preceding month. UNION BANK OF AUSTRALIA The Union Bank of Australia Ltd. has declared an interim dividend of 3/- a share (at the rate of 3 per cent.). The dividend is payable less British income tax of 3/8 in the £. Payment will be made to shareholders, on July 27, who were on the register on July 1, at the current rate of exchange for demand drafts on London at the date of the dividend warrant. In the previous year the interim was 3 per cent and the final 4 per cent.
