THJE ADVENTURES OF MICHAEL

Michael and his cronies talk of football days gone by; "Those were the days!" says Michael, and heaves a mighty sigh; "Those were the days when famous runs and brilliant tries were made. I vote we show' the youngsters just Low football should be played!”

They organise a Veteran’s Team, but meet with scant success. And which side finds it’s short of wind I know that you will guess!) Their corns are trodden on in scrums! In sticky mud thev fall! Their hair is pulled, they slide and slip, and don’t feel well at all!

They've just three minutes more to go and neither side has scored, So can you blame the audience for feeling rather bored? And then, so fast you blink your eyes, friend Horace makes a leap! He soars across the scrum, and scores! then tumbles in a heap!

Next day, alas, the Veterans’ Team is feeling stiff and sore. They realise they're not as fit as they have been of yore. "Alas!” says Mike, “our football days are past, we must admit. Those lanky youngsters play quite well, and they, at least, are fit."
