Colonel Eric Campbell, BrigadierGeneral H. B. Lloyd and Richard Arthur Duesbury were committed for trial on a charge of conspiracy to defraud the creditors of the Du Monier Laboratories, Ltd. Campbell and Duesbury were also committed for trial on a charge of perjury. The cases will be heard at the quarter sessions on August 2. Bail in £5OO was allowed in each instance. All defendants reserved their defence.

During a further hearing of Che conspiracy case on July 7 against Colonel Eric Campbell, Brigadier-General Lloyd, and Mr R. A. Duesbury, who were charged that between August, 1933, and May, 1938, they conspired to cheat and defraud Du Monier Laboratories, Ltd., of large sums of money, and to defraud that company and other persons, counsel for the Crown 'Mr Shand, K.C.) told the magistrate that a charge of perjury had been preferred against Campbell and Duesbury, arising out of certain replies they gave in the Equity Court proceedings on March 15, • which led to the present conspiracy proceedings. Both men were then formally charged with perjury. Mr Shand added that the evidence which was given in the conspiracy proceedings, would also be evidence relating to the charge of perjury.
