HARBOUR DRAGGED

DIVER JOINS SEARCH FOR MISSING MAN In spite of the investigations of a diver at the bottom of the harbour yesterday, no clue to the whereabout? of Mr Tettius Munro McKinnon, who has been missing since 8 pjn. on July 2, was found. For some days the police have been dragging the harbour between No. 1 and No. 2 wharves and these operations were continued without success yesterday. Yesterday afternoon the Timaru harbour Board’s diver was engaged by the relatives to search the harbour bottom at the end of No. 2 wharf, but although he stayed below for 40 minutes, his investigation did not reveal any fresh clues. While the diver was at work, a poiici cordon was placed at the shore end of the wharf to prevent the public from hampering operations.

The hat which was found by fishermen in Caroline Bay on Saturday lias not been identified as belonging to the missing man.
