AN ENGAGEMENT

LONDON. May 25. An engagement having interest to New Zealand readers is that announced between the Rev. Frederick Alexander Routley Chapman, domestic chaplain to the Bishop of Lichfield, and Miss Katherine Mill, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Mill, formerly of New Zealand. The bridegroom-elect is the son of the late Rev. A. Johnston Chapman and Mrs Johnston Chapman, jt Clifton, Bristol. The wedding is to take place in London about the end of July. The Bishop of Lichfield will officiate. Before the Rt. Rev. Dr E. S. Woods was translated to his present see, he was Bishop of Croydon. For some while Miss Hill had been his private secretary. When the move was made to Lichfield, last September. Miss Mill accompanied the bishop, and she has been performing secretarial duty for him there ever since. Mr and Mrs Mill have many friends all over New Zealand, although they have not been back since Mr Mill retired from the position of manager of the Bank of New Zealand in London a few years ago. The Rev. S. E. Woods, a son of the Bishop of Lichfield, went to the Christchurch diocese about eighteen months ago.
