WOMEN’S DIVISION
I AIRLIE BRANCH In spite of unfavourable weather a happy gathering of members and friends of the Fairlie branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union met in the Parish Hall on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the branch. After supper, the birthday cake, which was made by Mrs W. R. McConnell and iced by Mrs G. H. Patton, was taken from its place of honour. Mrs R. W. Wareing (vice-presi-dent) lit the candles, while Miss M. /)'3hibald (secretary) blew them out and Miss C. Macdonald (a past-presi-dent) cut the cake. Birthday greetings were received by telegram from Mr and Mrs D. Barnes, also greetings from the Albury branch and Mt. Nessing Women’s Institute. Mrs F. J. Robertson spoke on behalf of the Fairlie Women’s Institute and Mrs A. Hall for the Allandale Women's Institute. Dancing brought the evening to a close.
