CONFIDENTIAL DISCUSSIONS IN ENGLAND United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received June 16, 12.10 a.m.) LONDON, June 15. The Associated Press states: Elaborate secrecy surrounds the AngloAustralian Ottawa discussions. No statement or communique has been issued since the commencement, and none of the English papers even record the discussions, which are regarded as more or less confidential, until further developed. Dr. Eacle Page, representing Australia, in a statement regarding the meetings said: “We were over two hours in session yesterday and definite progress was made. The officials are carrying on the examination and are getting the case progressively ready.” Defence Problems Dr. Page and Mi' Stanley Bruce next week will resume the Defence discussions and confer with Sir Thomas Inskip (Minister for the Coordination of Defence), who will outline Britain’s measures for the co-or-dination of industry with defence, and also further aspects of Imperial cooperation to enable the Australian delegation to take back a complete report.
