Averaged sized catalogues were forward for to-day’s sheepskin auction, and some nice parcels of abattoir and butchers’ skins were submitted. Competition was keen for all sound pelted descriptions. Halfbreds and fine crossbreds appreciated id to Jd per lb, while shabby, dead and damaged descriptions were fully firm on late quotations. The thirty-sikth annual National Dairy Show under the auspices of the Manawatu and West Coast Agricultural and Pastoral Association, opened in wintry weather. The outlook for the remainder of the day is unpromising. The principal feature to-day is the large attendance of children from schools in the Wellington, and Wanganui Education Board areas. The Prime Minister will officially open the show this afternoon. The exhibition will last till Saturday. MINING NEWS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 14. The Rimu dredge return was 276.20 z for 133 hours’ work. DOMINION BREWERIES DIVIDEND OF 10 PER CENT. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, June 14. The directors of Dominion Breweries, Ltd, have notified the Stock Exchange that they have recommended shareholders to declare a dividend at a rate at 10 per cent, per annum, calculated on the amount paid up on all shares from time to time during the year ended March 31, 1938, less interim dividend paid in December, 1937. The interim dividend was also at 10 per cent, per annum, making 10 per cent, for the year against 9 per cent, for the previous year. THE PRICE Of GOLD.
