OBITUARY
MR F. W. WILSON By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. June 13. The death occurred to-day of Mr Frederick Walter Wilson, a director of Wilson and Horton Limited, aged 63. Mr Wilson had been in indifferent health for some time, but he maintained an active association with busi- | ness until a few days ago. Mr Wilson was the third son of the late Mr W. S. Wilson and grandson of Mr W. C. Wilson, founder of the “New Zealand Herald”. He was born in Auckland and educated at Queen’s College. After leaving school, Mr Wilson worked for | a while in the Auckland office of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile I Agency before joining the staff of Wilson and Horton on the commercial side. He was a director of Wilson and Horton, Limited, from the inception of the company, and was actively associated with the business of the firm. In his younger days Mr Wilson was a keen yachtsman, and he was one of the oldest members of the Royal New Zea- ! land Yacht Squadron. He was also a member of the Auckland club. A man of retiring disposition, Mr Wilson did not take any prominent part in public life, but he had an unbounded capacity for friendship which was reflected in all his activities. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Olive Wiseman, and by one son, Mr W. Scott Wilson, and three daught rs > —Misses Mary, Jean and Ruth Wilson. Mr W. R. Wilson, of Auckland, is a . brother, and Mr Henry Wilson 's a half-brother, while Sir James Gunson • is the late Mr Wilson’s brother-in- ; law.
