Van Zyl Fam, Minister of Railways of South Africa, who arrived by the Niagara on a month’s holiday in New Zealand. He is accompanied by his wife. Com: lenting on the return of the Lnited Government in strength at the recent general election Mr Ham said there will be very little change in policy. Great prosperity is being enjoyed, and a colossal amount of building is going on in the large tov r. particularly in the mining areas. The mining industry was the most effi- i ciently organised in the world. He saw no likelihood of any setbacks even if the price of gold dropped i tould not drop more than a few shillings. The probability was that the price would increase. Mr and Mrs Ham have visited Java and Australia.
