SAVINGS BANK
CLOSING OF ACCOUNTS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. June 13. A suggestion by the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Adam Hamilton, that the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, had introduced new matter into the argument about the Post Office Savings Bank accounts during the depression years was questioned by Mr Jones this evening. Mr Hamilton stated at Auckland that Mr Jones was attempting to carry on the argument by introducing figures and dates which were different from those mentioned in the Prime Ministers original statement and Mr Hamilton's reply. “I will be interested to learn in what respect the figures I quoted in the statement I made at Dunedin are not applicable to those previously mentioned by the Prime Minister and Mr Hamilton,” said Mr Jones. “That statement was made at the express wish of the Prime Minister, who asked me to state the full facts of the case. I will be pleased to know from Mr Hamilton in what way the figures and dates I gave are not related to the question in dispute.”
