OBITUARY

MR JOSEPH WARD By Telegraph—Press Association BLENHEIM, May 31. The master of the first Catholic school established in Blenheim, in 1872, Mr Joseph Ward, died this morning, aged 93 years. He was born in England and came to New Zealand 75 years ago, on completing his secondary education, landing in Nelson and coming immediately to Marlborough. He is believed to be the Dominion’s oldest surviving member of the Hibernian Society. His widow, who is in her ninetieth year, is a niece of the late Archbishop Redwood.
