Floyd Roberts, aged 38 years, smashed all records in winning the twentysixth 500-mile speedway classic. His time was 4 hours 15 minutes 58.40 seconds, averaging 117.2 miles per hour, compared with the previous 113.58 miles an hour of Wilbur Shaw, last years winner, who to-day was second. Roberts wins 20,000 dollars and Shaw 10,000.
