FAREWELL SOCIAL
A very enjoyable evening was spent at the residence of Mr and Mrs A. H. Giles, when the young people of Totara Valley, Hazelburn and Opihi, met to bid farewell to Mr Bruce Chapmui who is leaving the district. The everdng was spent in games and dancing. Novelty dances were won by Miss R. Pelvin and B. Chapman, Miss H Mowat and W. Harte, Miss E. Glennie and F. Barton, Miss H. Gould and E. Giles. Songs were sung by Mr Fergus Barton (Carew). After supper Mr Stuart Cleland, on behalf of the young people, presented Mr Chapman with a set of military brushes. Speeches were also made by Mr McKeown and Mr Giles.
