Herr Henlein, leader of the Sudeten Germans, has suggested a plebiscite in Czecho-Slovakia to decide on the attitude towards the Sudeten Germans. The Prague correspondent of “The Daily Telegraph” states that a Sudeten German was shot in the leg in a clash with police on the outskirts of Bratislava. Two policemen challenged five Sudetens who were sticking up Swastika posters, and the Sudetens attacked the police. An inspector who arrived was greeted by a hail of stones and drew a revolver and fired. Five Sudetens were arrested. May 2 Herr Henlein says he desires only peace and complete equality of rights. A settlement is essential not only to us but to Europe. We will never admit we are in the minority, but we are disposed to reconsider the Czech constitution, as the basis of a solution of the problems.
