Mr L. H. Dangerfield will leave to-day for Christchurch, en route for England and the Continent.
Rev. D. S. Evans, of Spring Creek, has accepted the charge of the parochial district of Reefton. He expects to take up his new duties early in May.
Mr R. B. Scott, a member of the staff of the Gisborne branch of the Bank of New South Wales, has received notice of his transfer to the Christchurch office.
Mr C. A. Legg, stationmaster at Christchurch, has been advised of his transfer on promotion to Auckland as assistant traffic manager. He will leave Christchurch on April 25.
Mr W. N. Jebson, lecturer in the School of Engineering, Auckland University College, has received notice of his election as an associate member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, London.
Mr N. H. Mackie, Government land valuer stationed at Palmerston North, has been promoted to the position of inspecting valuer for the Nortii Island. He will still have his headquarters at Palmerston North.
The promotion to the position of District Traffic Manager of Railways at Wellington of Mr W. A. Woodger, assistant traffic manager at Auckland, is announced. Mr Woodger entered the railway service 38 years ago at Wellington, and went to Auckland 14 years ago as chief train-running officer. Mr C. F. Hartland, of Waipukurau, who will leave this week for Christchurch, where he has accepted the position of stipendiary steward to the New Zealand Racing Conference, was met at Waipukurau by a large gathering of farmers, stock auctioneers and agents and the managers of mercantile firms, and presented with a cheque.
