SWIMMING TROPHIES PRESENTED
NORTH END AND OLD BOYS’ CLUBS In the West End Hall the North End and Old Boys' Swimming Clubs held a combined dance and presentation of trophies. There was a large attendance and a very enjoyable evening was held. The trophies were presented by Mrs Ivan Black, wife of the president of the North End Club, who was introduced by Mr G. H. Andrews. Mr Andrews. vic° president of the club, before asking Mrs Black to present the prizes, congratulated the club on its success during the year and specially for winning the Simmons Cup and the Jack Keys Memorial Shield for most points at the Temuka carnival. As president of the North End Ratepayers’ Association it gave him much pleasure to know that the Waimataitai Baths had proved to be such an asset. Trophies presented were as follows: North End Club Senior women: The R. J. Moyes Challenge Cup. Miss M. Symon. Junior girls: Challenge Cup, Miss B. Black. Senior men: N.Z. Breweries Challenge Cup. A. W’aters. Intermediate boys- N.E. Ratepayers’ Challenge Cur F. Davison. Junior boy; G. H. Andrews Challenge Cup. J. Lew*’. Dive. W Donnithome. Chas. Pateman Challenge Cup for most improved swimmer. J. Lewis. Simmons Cup team: A. Waters. H. Pateman. R. Knowles. K. Scarf. Jack Keys Memorial Shield for most points in Temuka carnival. North End Club. Old Boys’ 'Club McKeown Cup: W. Sutherland. Championship Cup: R. Sutherland. Diving Cup: A. C. Rippen. Ridley Shield: S. A. Fogg. Carlton Cup: A. Morton.
