At an inquest, which was opened in Timaru yesterday by the Coroner Mr H. Morgan, evidence of identification was given by Edward Butler, carpenter, of Temuka, on whose section Parsons’s hut stood. Witness said he saw Parsons walking about mar the hut on Sunday afternoon, but on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock he learnt that he was ill. Dr. Sneddon was summoned and he ordered Parsons to be removed to Timaru Public Hospital, where he died soon after admission. Describing the fits, Butler said Parsons was often unconscious for about half an hour, after which he came round and when the effects had worn off was his usual self again. He had been having the fits for five or six years, but did not seem to think that they were serious enough to warrant his taking medical advipe. The inquest was adjourned until tomorrow morning.
